Issues Viewer
3D Repo for Autodesk® Revit® and 3D Repo for Autodesk® Navisworks® plugins provide a convenient way of accessing and managing project issues. Issues created in 3D Repo can be accessed inside Autodesk Revit & Navisworks with the Revit and Navisworks plugins. You can comment and view messages, resources, screenshots as well as add new issues, all from within the Revit and Navisworks environments.
In this article, you will find out, in both Revit and Navisworks, how to:
- Load Issues from 3D Repo
- Open Issues list
- Send Issues to 3D Repo

Open with Revit
1. Load Issues from 3D Repo
- Go to the 3D Repo tab located in the main ribbon menu
- Select Issues within Collaboration in the plugin bar
- Create a 3D view for coordination and rename it to ‘3D Repo‘
You will use it to view Issues from 3D Repo
- For the best visual experience, set the view to Perspective in Projection Mode under Properties tab
- In 3D Repo Issues Viewer, provide the following login details:
- Username
- Password
Ensure that 3drepo.io is chosen as the domain in Server
- Hit Login
You may wish to load all Revit links if your model/federation contains many for a better context view
- A list of Teamspaces shared with you will appear. Within the available list, choose your:
- Teamspace in Select a Teamspace
- Project in Select a Project
- Model or Federation in Select a Model
- In Federation/Issue List, scroll over the issues loaded from 3D repo
2. Open Issues List
- Click on any Issue to view it on the model viewer
The camera updates to focus on the model issue’s view - Click on the right arrow icon to open this Issue’s card
- Using the Filter button, you can filter your issues by: Status, Priority, Type, Assigned to, Created by, Date From, Date to and None
- Or, type in the Issue title in the search bar and hit enter on your keyboard
- To create a new Issue, click on the green New Issue button and fill in the information
- Under New Issue, give a title to the issue
- Under Properties tab, Edit the text Description
- Change accordingly from the respective drop-down options:
- Priority
- Status
- Assign
- Type
- Due Date
- Upload an Image or take a screenshot by clicking on each button
The screenshot will appear in the Issue card once saved - Hit the green Save button
- Choose the arrow to scroll down to the Comments section
- Use the Filter button to also search for a specific comment
- You can add comments to the existing issue by typing in the dialog
- Click on camera button to take a model screenshot or on the Image button to upload an image. To delete it, simply click on the image
- Hit green Send button when done to communicate it with the team
3. Send issues to 3D Repo
Any changes you do with the Issues Viewer within Revit, whether editing an existing issue or creating a new one, will be automatically updated in 3drepo.io. You can also communicate additional content with the team:
- Access Resources tab to open model resources available
- To create a resource, hit Add Resource and specify if it is a URL link or a local document
- Hit Save button or X to remove it
- Click on a resource to visualise it in your Web browser
Currently supported formats include .PDF documents, web links, images and videos
- Clicking on an Issue comment in the Comments section will update the model view to the mark-up view on Revit
- Just like the steps above, you can also take a screenshot of the current Revit view with the camera button and add comments
- Hit Send to communicate changes with your team on 3D Repo

Open with Navisworks
1. Load Issues from 3D Repo
- Go to the 3D Repo tab located in the main ribbon menu
- Select Issues within Collaboration in the plugin bar
- In 3D Repo Issues Viewer, provide the following login details:

- Password
Ensure that 3drepo.io is chosen as the domain in Server
- Hit Login

- Project in Select a Project
- Model or Federation in Select a Model
- In Federation/Issue List, scroll over the issues loaded from 3D repo
2. Open Issues List
- Click on any Issue to view it on the model viewer
