We’re excited to introduce 3D Repo’s newest team member and Customer Success Engineer, Jamie Iskander.
Jamie’s impressive experience and knowledge in the industry make him a valuable addition to the team and we’re thrilled to have him on board! We spoke to Jamie about his reasons for joining 3D Repo and what he’s most excited about in the role and industry. Read on to learn more about Jamie’s background and insights.
What is your background and where did you work previously?
I previously worked at Excitech (now acquired by Symetri) on a product called Excitech DOCS, which helped architects achieve BIM Level 2 certification. As Operations and Customer Success Manager, I was exposed to the challenges in the construction industry and the potential benefits of digital transformation.
Before that, I trained as a Chemical Engineer and worked several years in the industry as a design engineer. More recently, I’ve worked as a project manager to launch SaaS software in B2B.
Why did you join 3D Repo?
I’m excited by the product and benefits 3D Repo provides for users, providing collaboration in a single model space. I think we are in an exciting position after the release of V5 and the potential for growth is huge. In a small team, there’s plenty of space for me to add value and pull from my prior experience in BIM and Customer Success.
What are you most looking forward to at 3D Repo?
What I’m most looking forward to is meeting customers and hearing their experience of 3D Repo, and how it’s adding value and improving the daily lives of users. I’d like to hear the potential gaps that 3D Repo can strive to fill in the future and better understand the challenges, pain points and frustrations of users.
As we grow the Customer Success function within 3D Repo, I hope to identify which customers are struggling with adoption and may need a helping hand to reach the full value which we can provide. Similarly, I’d love to identify our best customers and work together with them to continuously improve our products and services.
What gets you excited about the future of this industry?
I believe 3D Visualisation, AR, VR, AI and other smart technologies will revolutionise the way the construction industry works day to day. It can provide customers who take advantage of the benefits with a competitive edge over their competitors and late adopters.
3D models and BIM will only grow more intelligent as increasing companies collaborate using digital technology. The potential to spot issues earlier, make construction safer and buildings more environmentally efficient is huge and it’s exciting to be part of a company progressing BIM technology and enabling widespread collaboration on 3D models.
What are your interests and hobbies?
Outside of work I enjoy staying active by playing football, rock climbing and going to the gym. I’m also a huge fan of the arts, particularly cinema, music and painting.
