3D Repo have been selected to join the Mayor of London’s Civic Innovation Challenge for 2019/2020 to develop innovative solutions to key challenges in London.
Just 23 companies from over 125 applications have been accepted to take part, and will work directly with Challenge Partners from the Metropolitan Police Service, the Greater London Authority and Transport for London to develop the proposal they submitted in response to three challenges:
> Countering violent extremism online
> Democratising planning
> More efficient freight in London
The #CivicInnovationChallenge is a five-week programme delivered by experts from Social Tech Trust and partners Greater London Authority and Microsoft. 3D Repo has been invited onto the programme to tackle the challenge of Democratising Planning.
In February, up to 10 companies will be further shortlisted to compete for a £40,000 contract to deliver a pilot project together with their Challenge Partner.
Later in the year, three companies – one per challenge – will be awarded the £40,000 contract to test their idea further.
The second round of the Mayor of London’s Civic Innovation Challenge was launched by the Mayor, Sadiq Khan, in November 2019 at a reception, hosted by partners, Microsoft, at their Flagship Store on Oxford Circus.
